Lunar New Year

Get ready to feel the energy and excitement, as Fallsview Casino is set to kick off this year’s Lunar New Year - Year of the Snake starting on January 29 with a multi-faceted event that touches every aspect of the property, from events to entertainment, food and beverage and promotions.

For over 10 years, Lunar New Year, one of the biggest holidays in Asian culture has become an annual tradition at Fallsview Casino Resort with many patrons looking forward to celebrating an event full of history and culture. The Year of the Snake is associated with wisdom, luck, transformation and authority, which ties in perfectly with a beautiful tradition that is linked to hope and prosperity to kick off the new year. The festivities begin on January 29 at 2pm with a property-wide lion dance through Fallsview Casino’s Galleria, casino gaming floor and Golden Lotus restaurant. There are so many aspects of Lunar New Year that are tied to bringing good luck for the year ahead, from the ceremonial ‘dotting of the lion’s eyes’ to wake the sleeping lion, to the heart pounding sound of the drums, petting of the lions and the memorable ‘eating of the lucky lettuce’ by the lions which is shared with many guests as a cherished keepsake.

The festivities also include property-wide décor featuring cherry blossoms, floral arrangements, and lantern banners reflecting the charming yet authoritative symbolic nature of the snake. The Teslatron at the main entrance is an instagrammable-worthy statement piece welcoming all visitors to the property and honouring the Year of the Snake in a powerful, yet traditional way.

He is currently the host of Family Feud Canada.

He currently plays the role of “Templeton Dudge” in the sitcom Animal Control on FOX Television.

His first book, Teaching: It’s Harder Than It Looks was released in 2012 and was a National best seller. He released his second book in October 2023.
